Gram's Bread - A lifetime of Great Taste is How To Make Dough!

When you learn how to make bread, you learn how to make dough.

It is a labor of love when you make home-made bread. Compare it to what is presented in the market or what comes out of your modern bread machine.

Bread differences differences are largly due to the type of ingredients used and how and how much you manipulate them. Making bread from scratch is what defines bread recipes.

Gram's Bread

Ingredients

  • 9 Cups flour
  • 3 Cups whole milk
  • 1 Stick butter
  • 1 Tsp salt
  • 2 package dry yeast cake
  • 2 Tbs sugar

Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water and bring to bubbling.

Remove from heat and add butter, sugar, salt and let cool to lukewarm.

Add half of the flour and bet with a wooden spoon (approximately 2 minutes).

Add remaining flour and knead well. Cover and put ina warm place to rise.

Knead once more. Put in bread pans and let rise again. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.
