Louise's Chicken Wings

When my husband and I visited Gram, she always had Chicken Wings and legs cooking on the stove.

We never got to leave without a taste and I do have to say, they are great!

My husband, prefers his chicken without the bone, but with or without the bone, these are excellent for game day or any other day for that matter!

Ingredients
  • 15 Wings
  • Garlic powder
  • Corn Starch
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 Tbs. Olive Oil
  • 2/3 Cup Pineapple or Grapefruit Juice
  • 2/3 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Tbs. Catsup
  • 1 Tbs. Soy Sauce
  • Sauce

  • 2/3 cup Pineapple or Grapefruit Juice
  • 2/3 cup Sugar
  • 1 Tbs. Catsup
  • 1 Tbs. Soy Sauce

Sprinkle chicken with garlic powder and let set for 2-3 hours or overnight(better).

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Heat oil in pan.

Beat egg.

Wash chicken then roll in corn starch.

Dip chicken in the egg, and fry until lightly brown.

Heat to a boil the sauce ingredients.

Mix 2 Tsp. corn starch and cook until sauce thickens.

Dip wings in the sauce, and place on a well greased foil cookie sheet.

Bake for 1 hour.

Tips

If you like them hot, add your favorite hot sauce either to the sauce ingredients or omitting the soy sauce then let it bake with the wings.

Strain extra sauce for dipping and keep warm when serving.

Now, you know how good chicken wings can be, but when you combine our version of Honey Mustard Chicken and cook it in a crockpot or roaster oven and serve it up with Grams Chicken Wings, you will please those who like bone in chicken and those who don't.

Try this on for size and serve both. You will have nothing but smiling faces and maybe a few left-overs for lunch the next day.

By the way, you will want to cook this one in a roaster oven.
